Why Cork Wood Designer cork is so warm and quiet.

Cork Wood Designer cork is harvested from the bark of the cork oak, which regrows every nine years without cutting down a single tree. It is one of the warmest and quietest floors on the market: millions of tiny air pockets insulate against the cold and cushion footsteps.

The wood look gives the appearance of a wood floor with the cushion and quiet of cork on top.

“Cork is the best-kept secret for a bedroom or office: warm, soft and quiet,” says Sefi Dollinger, Owner of Planchers Bellefeuille, serving Quebec homeowners since 1983.
Installation and care

How a cork floor is installed.

Cork Wood Designer cork floats with its click system, over an underlay, no glue or nails. Leave an expansion gap around the perimeter. It is a quick, clean install, like any floating floor.

Minimal upkeep: regular sweeping and a barely-damp mop. Avoid standing water and wipe up spills quickly. Felt pads under furniture protect the cushioned surface.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions.

Is cork durable enough for a home?
Yes. Its wear layer protects the surface, and cork springs back after pressure, which makes it resistant to furniture marks. It is warranted for residential use.
Does cork fear water?
It tolerates splashes wiped up quickly, but it is not meant for frequently wet rooms like a bathroom. For those, choose vinyl or porcelain.
Does cork work over radiant heat?
Most click cork floors accept low-temperature radiant heat. Respect the maximum temperature recommended by TORLYS.
Is cork really quieter?
Yes. Its cellular structure absorbs sound, an excellent choice for bedrooms, offices and upper floors.
