Why the Chalet laminate fits a busy home.

The Chalet laminate reproduces the look of wood with a high-definition image protected by a tough wear layer. Its AC rating measures that abrasion resistance: the higher it is, the better the floor handles foot traffic, chairs and pet claws.

Five oak tones, from light Pavot to Blanchi, for a chalet feel.

“For a family with kids and a dog, a good laminate gives the look of wood without the stress of scratches,” says Sefi Dollinger, Owner of Planchers Bellefeuille, serving Quebec homeowners since 1983.
Installation and care

How a laminate floor is installed.

The Chalet laminate floats with its click system: planks lock together without glue or nails, over an underlay, on almost any flat subfloor including a concrete slab. Leave an expansion gap along the walls; the floor is walk-on ready as soon as it is down.

Minimal upkeep: regular sweeping and a barely-damp mop. Avoid standing water and abrasive cleaners. Wipe up spills quickly to protect the joints.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions.

Is laminate flooring waterproof?
Laminate handles splashes wiped up quickly. For a frequently wet room like a bathroom, choose luxury vinyl instead.
Can laminate be sanded?
No. Unlike hardwood, laminate cannot be sanded: its decorative surface is protected by a wear layer. If a plank is damaged, you replace it.
What does the AC rating mean?
It is a laminate’s abrasion class. AC3 suits residential use, AC4 heavy residential and light commercial, AC5 commercial. The higher the number, the tougher the surface.
Does laminate work over radiant heat?
Most click laminates accept low-temperature radiant heat. Always respect the manufacturer’s maximum temperature.
